By Barry Anderson - The Evening News CSABA LASZLO stressed today that Hearts' summer recruitment drive is far from over following the arrivals of Spanish winger Suso and midfielder Ian Black, with the manager hoping for as many as five new faces in the near future. Laszlo was out of the country yesterday and has recently been formulating plans to reinforce his squad.
Hearts head to Germany on Monday for a four-game pre- season tour, during which some potential new signings may be assessed before a final decision is taken on their suitability for Scottish football. Priorities remain central defenders and strikers and the Evening News has learned that Laszlo has already identified preferred candidates for both positions. (Click Read More)...

By Barry Anderson - The Evening News HEARTS are leading the pursuit of Austrian striker David Witteveen and will beat clubs in Italy, Germany, Holland and Switzerland to the player's signature provided he successfully completes a medical examination. Witteveen, a former Red Bull salzburg forward, is hopeful of joining Hearts on their six-day tour of Germany next week with initial talks on a possible two-year contract having already taken place.
The 24-year-old fits manager Csaba Laszlo's identikit for a Scottish Premier League striker, being over 6ft 2ins tall with a bustling style and good turn of pace. Sources in Austria, where he spent last season on loan at WAC St Andra, describe him as strong, quick and ideally suited to the stereotypical British game. (Click Read More)...

By Angus Wright - The Scotsman HEARTS look to have lost out to Bristol City in the race to sign former Celtic midfielder Paul Hartley. The 32-year-old Scotland internationalist, available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Parkhead, spent four years at Tynecastle before moving to Celtic, but a return to Edinburgh now appears off.
Greek side Iraklis Saloniki had also made an offer for Hartley, but the player is due to head to Bristol early next week for a medical ahead of moving to the Championship club, for whom he is expected to sign a two-year deal. Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo does however hope to have new players on board the squad's flight to Germany on Monday. (Click Read More)...

The Evening News MACEDONIAN international striker Ilco Naumoski is expected to join Spanish club Almeria after claiming he rejected an offer from Hearts. The 25-year-old is due to leave his Austrian club, SV Mattersburg, and revealed earlier this week that Tynecastle officials had offered him a contract. However, he is now favouring a move to Spain. Naumoski, who scored Macedonia's winning goal against Scotland in Skopje last year, was reported as saying: "I am disappointed at the offer from Hearts. It was unacceptable."
Csaba Laszlo, the Hearts manager, is in the market for a striker as he looks to reinforce attacking options for next season. He has also been linked with a move for the former Dundee United forward Warren Feeney, who recently held talks with Leeds United. German midfielder Tibor Heber continues on trial at Riccarton, where he is being assessed by Laszlo and his coaching staff. Heber, 23, is an attacking midfielder from Alemannia Aachen II. By Craig Swan - The Daily Record HEARTS are eyeing a move for Austrian striker David Witteveen. The hitman is set to link up with boss Csaba Laszlo's squad at their training camp in Germany next week. Witteveen has been plying his trade with St Andrae in the Austrian Second Division but will be handed a chance to impress Laszlo and secure a contract in the SPL. The 25-year-old is a tall, rangy forward who could add to Hearts' attacking options. Laszlo has welcomed Spanish winger Suso and Inverness midfielder Ian Black into his squad this week and is keen to land more new faces before the big kick-off on August 15. The Gorgie manager needs to beef up his attacking choices with Calum Elliot and Christian Nade his only options. Macedonian international Ilco Naumoski rejected a contract offer and looks set for a move to Spain. (Click Read More)...

By Robert Martin & Paul Hughes - The Scottish Sun HEARTS have slapped a stunning £6million price tag on Andy Driver's head in a desperate bid to keep him at Tynecastle. The England Under-21 winger has attracted interest from down south with Burnley and Coventry both tabling bids. SunSport revealed this week Owen Coyle had a £1.5m bid knocked back for Driver. Coventry also had an approach for Driver turned down. Turf Moor boss Coyle already has £3.5m striker Steven Fletcher in the bag, now he would love to land Driver for the Clarets' assault on the Premier League. But it's understood Coyle has been told by Jambos chief executive Sergejus Fedotovas he can have Driver, as long as he coughs up a staggering £6m. Fedotovas feels Driver's value has soared since his involvement in the Under-21 European Championships in Sweden. (Click Read More)...

BBC Sport News Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has vowed to continue his recruitment drive following the summer arrivals of Suso and Ian Black. Laszlo aims to bolster his squad further as the Hungarian looks forward to his second season at Tynecastle. "We must begin to work and try to quickly form a competitive team," Laslo told the Hearts website. "I don't like to take players at the last minute but the important thing is that, from Monday, we are together." Laszlo also said welcoming back Jose Goncalves to Tynecastle was like signing a new player, but the Portuguese international must earn his place. The Portuguese U21 international has returned to the Edinburgh club after his season-long loan with Nuremberg. "Jose is like a new player but nobody gets a free letter to the team," said Laszlo. "He must show his talent and find his place. (Click Read More)...

By Colleen Paterson - The Evening News HEARTS midfielder Ian Black today insisted that he's turned over a new leaf – and he can't wait to prove it by handling the pressure of an Edinburgh derby. The player signed a pre-contract agreement with Hearts back in January but had to wait six long months to report to his new place of work yesterday. The former Inverness player has, perhaps unfairly, earned a tag as something of a hothead. His combative style led to him picking up nine bookings last season, however, he was only sent off once in his five years with Caley.
Having supported Hearts as a boy growing up in Tranent, the pressure-cooker atmosphere of a game against Hibs will be the ideal litmus test for the player's temperament, but he's certain he can handle the heat. He said: "People have knocked me in the past but I've curbed that recently and I like to think of myself as something of a quiet boy now! I like to get on the ball. I like to pass, to keep the ball but I think everyone needs that little bit of grit that I have got as well. (Click Read More)...
